Mrs. Lines' SOAP Challenge!

Message from Mrs. Lines

I had an idea I thought could be fun. You do not have to do this but you may enjoy the creativity and you may surprise yourselves by what you produce:

We all know how important hand washing is in stopping this virus from spreading.

As simple soap and bubbles are our front fighters, I am inviting all grades to participate in a Supersoap/SuperBubble activity.

Choose your hero, Mr. or Mrs. Soap or Bubbble, SoapMan/SoapWoman/SoapKid, Bubbleman/Woman/Kid, WonderBubble/The Bubble Gang.. you can find your own hero or heroes and use any of these ideas or make your own title. Just make sure it includes soap or bubble.

Once you have your hero or heroes, you could:
  • draw a picture (black and white, coloured, painted, collage,..any medium you choose)
  • write a story, illustrated is best
  • make a comic strip
  • make up a song about our soap and bubble heroes - to your own tune or any tune you know
  • make a great dance
All of these can be as simple or complicated as you are able to complete at your grade.

Don't feel stressed that this is extra work - this is for fun if you are wondering what to do, not an extra assignment.

You can use your computers for any of these or scan your hand-drawn work.

We will display all we receive when we return to school. Remember no hard copies to school. We will print them and you can keep your originals as memories of this very different time!

Remember why soap is such a great ally - it breaks down the fatty layer that protects the villain virus.

You are smarter than the villain because you have discovered the secret of breaking through his defence.

What is a bubble? A layer of air surrounded by soap.

Easy to make - just soap, water, and rubbing together with your hands.

Then you have a superpower bubble that can get into every tiny little corner as you wash carefully.

Maybe you'll even hear the villains squeaking as they are defeated!

For now, you are HIS SOAP (Students Organizing Against Pandemic) Stars! Maybe you can invent more slogans/acronyms using the word SOAP or BUBBLE(S). Get inventive, everyone, and have fun!

With love to you all,
Mrs. Lines
