Day 6

Hello!

It is Monday and I have crossed out Week 26 on our Fractions of Grade 5 chart.
  1. 9-10:15: Maths Topic 14-1 - Customary Units of Measurement for CAPACITY - be careful. There is a reason why so very few countries still use this system. Use all of the resources in today's lesson to make sure that you understand.
  2. 10:30-3PM: I will be working through your Historical Fiction stories and your Chernobyl reports for Science. Note that I will be working through them, I will not be grading them yet. The more we check with each other, the better your stories and reports will be.
For Maths, I have been wanting to share this with you for a while. Remember, I spoke about it when I was trying to get someone in the class to nominate Liberia for our International Expo. Here is the Venn diagram that I mentioned.

For the next three days, please work on these once you have completed your Maths. Remember to get outside time (AWAY from crowded areas), wash your hands regularly, and take care of your health. Take breaks, take walks, take ice cream from the fridge when nobody is looking, but we sure to take time to work on the following:
  • Work on your Social Studies project;
  • Work on your Historical Fiction draft - remember the first draft of ideas (not the whole essay) is due today;
  • Work on your Science report about Chernobyl;
  • Work on your International Expo as much as you can - 'Hangout' with your group;
  • Work on your ideas and gather materials for your self-watering STEM  - check in with your partner;
  • READ - do research, read a book that you got from the library or have been meaning to read;
Historical Fiction Due Dates:
Friday, March 27: First draft due (I wll be working through these this morning, Monday, March 30th)
Tuesday, April 7th: Second draft due (You will have a week to work on this draft).
Tuesday, April 21st: Final printed copy due.
