5th Grade Weekly Update

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the end of our second full week. Thank you for your patience during my absence. I apologize again for any inconvenience that this caused. Now that I am back, the class should stay on course as planned as we catch up on any work that we might have missed.  

What we learned this week

Maths: Topic 2 – Adding and Subtracting Whole Numbers and Decimals

Literacy: Realistic Fiction. Summarizing/Narrative Elements/Thick Narrative Descriptions/Because of Winn-Dixie.

Science: Part One – The Nature of Science: How Do Scientists Investigate?

Social Studies: Ch. 1 The Land  - Landforms/Land Use/People and Regions.

What we will learn next week

Literacy: Realistic Fiction. Because of Winn-Dixie (Unit Wrap-up and final assessment).

Science: Part One – The Nature of Science: How Do Scientists Collect and interpret data/support their conclusions?

Social Studies: Ch. 1 The Land  - Landforms/Land Use/People and Regions - Chapter Wrap-Up and Test
